Fred’s house is just outside of Grass Valley off Highway 174. Fred had us install a GAF Elk Timberline 30 year roof. We installed new gutters with Leaf Solution (leafsolution.com) gutter protectors. We also installed a ridge vent to keep his attic cooler and allow his insulation to work more efficiently. Thanks Fred

- The Manufacturer.
- The Installer.
The Manufacturer provides the shingle warranty.
- 30year, 40 year, Lifetime (50 year).
- This warranty only covers defects in the material.
- These warranties are prorated over the lifetime of the warranty.
- These warranties typically don’t cover workmanship or roof leaks
The Installer provides the workmanship warranty.
- This warranty should provide that the shingles will be installed in compliance with the Manufacturer’s specifications.
- This warranty should provide that the shingles are installed to industry standards and in a manner that the roof will not leak.
- Typically, the longer the workmanship warranty the better the roof job.
If the Installer fails at the roof installation, the manufacturing warranty is in jeopardy.
CONCLUSION: Emphasis should be placed on hiring a reputable installer with good references and tenure.

Jerry’s problem was that a company installed a high profile gutter cover over his gutters. Not only was the gutter cover able to keep the leaves out of the gutter, but it was also keeping out most of the rain water. The gutter cover was installed without positive drainage to the outside of the gutter and virtually created a dam. This caused rain water to leak in behind the gutter and damage the overhangs.
We were able to solve the problem by removing the old gutter cover and installing LEAF SOLUTION. This low profile leaf system virtually keeps out all the leaves, dust and dirt while letting the rain water in. This system comes with a manufacturers lifetime warranty. So, no more worry’s Jerry!
